Macklemore has announced a Dublin concert as part of his new Free Palestine Tour, following his removal from the remaining dates of Ed Sheeran’s US tour earlier this month.<\/p>\n
The US rapper will play Dublin\u2019s 3Arena on 26 October, before shows at the Accor Arena in Paris on 29 October and OVO Arena Wembley in London on 30 October.<\/p>\n
All proceeds from the concerts will go to organisations providing humanitarian, medical and other support to Palestinians, according to organisers.<\/p>\n
Further dates, including shows in the US, will be announced in the coming weeks, while artists joining Macklemore on the tour have yet to be revealed.<\/p>\n
Announcing the shows on social media, Macklemore made a pointed reference to his departure from Sheeran\u2019s Loop Tour.<\/p>\n
“So, as you all know, my schedule freed up a bit,” he wrote.<\/p>\n
Macklemore said he had spent the past week contacting artists who had “shown up and used their stages to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people”.<\/p>\n
“Because of how quickly all of this has come together, a lot of the conversations, schedules and details are still being worked out,” he said.<\/p>\n
“But this is a moment of momentum, and there is work to be done.<\/p>\n
“So we\u2019re going on tour.”<\/p>\n

Macklemore was removed from the remaining US dates of Sheeran\u2019s tour after making comments in support of Palestinians while performing at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey earlier this month.<\/p>\n
Tour promoter Messina Touring Group said it had been informed by venues hosting upcoming dates that they would not allow concerts featuring Macklemore to go ahead. Sheeran later said the decision to remove the rapper had not been his.<\/p>\n
Irish acts Aaron Rowe and Beoga, along with Finneas and Danish band Lukas Graham, subsequently withdrew from upcoming shows in solidarity with Macklemore.<\/p>\n
Macklemore later said he would donate $1 million (\u20ac872,000) in net earnings from the Sheeran tour to organisations supporting Palestinians.<\/p>\n
Sheeran addressed the controversy on stage in Philadelphia last weekend, describing the situation in Gaza as “catastrophic and unjustifiable and disproportionate” and telling the audience he had made “mistakes”.<\/p>\n

Organisations set to benefit from the Free Palestine Tour include Anera, Gaza Soup Kitchen, HEAL Palestine, Medical Aid for Palestinians, the Palestine Children\u2019s Relief Fund, Jewish Voice for Peace and UNRWA USA.<\/p>\n
Tickets for the Dublin concert are priced at \u20ac67.65 and \u20ac77.20, subject to a Ticketmaster service charge.<\/p>\n
