After being unceremoniously booted from Ed Sheeran\u2019s stadium tour for speaking out in favor of Palestine<\/a>, Macklemore is building his own show. \u201cSo, as you all know, my schedule freed up a bit,\u201d he teased in a statement where he also revealed that he is going on a \u201cFree Palestine\u201d tour later this year. The tour is being billed as by \u201cMacklemore and Friends,\u201d and it will include several artists who have yet to be announced. All proceeds will go to organizations \u201csupporting the Palestinian people and movement.\u201d \u201cBecause of how quickly all of this has come together, a lot of the conversations, schedules, and details are still being worked out,\u201d Macklemore added. \u201cBut this is a moment of momentum, and there is work to be done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Macklemore was forced out of being an opening act on Sheeran\u2019s Loop Tour<\/a> after he spoke out in support of Palestine onstage, and stadium owners, led by Bob Kraft, threatened to cancel the show if Macklemore remained on the bill. In response, multiple other artists who were a part of the tour, including Finneas, Aaron Rowe, and the band Beoga, left the tour as well. \u201cWhat happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage,\u201d Macklemore said in his statement. \u201cWhen the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention.\u201d<\/p>\n

The only confirmed dates for the tour so far are abroad, in Dublin, Paris, and London, at the end of October, but Macklemore did promise that \u201cartist announcements coming soon, as well as U.S. dates.\u201d Presale begins on Monday with general on-sale happening on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
