\n\tAlexandros Avranas<\/a>, who won the Venice Film Festival Silver Lion for best director for the harrowing drama \u201cMiss Violence,\u201d will helm the Greek adaptation of Globoplay<\/a>\u2019s hit series \u201cThe Others<\/a>.\u201d The project, which is currently in production, follows the format sales agreement signed between Alpha TV and Brazilian media powerhouse Globo<\/a> in late 2024.<\/p>\n

\n\tCreated and written by top Brazilian TV creatve driving force Lucas Paraizo, \u201cThe Others\u201d follows two neighboring couples who clash after a fight between their teenage sons, triggering an escalating conflict with absurd consequences. What begins as a trivial disagreement reaches new proportions regarding how far a lack of dialogue can drive people. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe series is one of the most successful Globoplay original series to date, following in the footsteps of Paraizo\u2019s hit medical drama \u201cUnder Pressure,\u201d which was sold to more than 60 countries. In Brazil, the success of the franchise was consolidated with the premiere of its third season this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Greek adaptation of the series is produced by Primavisione and stars Maria Nafpliotou (\u201cCaf\u00e9 404\u201d), Charis Fragulis (\u201cAfterlov\u201d), Nikos Psarras (\u201cThe Fire Bracelet\u201d), and Paschalis Terzis. In addition to \u201cThe Others,\u201d Greece will also get a local adaptation of the telenovela \u201cAll The Flowers,\u201d with the same production company and broadcasting channel.<\/p>\n

\n\tTo follow the start of production, author Lucas Paraizo visited the set in Greece: \u201cI was on the set of the Greek version of \u2018The Others\u2019, a series I created, and had the pleasure of watching the shooting of one of the most important scenes of the first season: the scene where the characters Cibele and Wando face off over their sons\u2019 fight,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI had the pleasure of witnessing the enthusiasm of the cast, crew, and director Alexandro Avranas, whom I\u2019ve been a fan of since he directed the feature film \u2018Miss Violence,\u2019\u201d he added. \u201cI am curious to see this new version of the series and am sure it will be a success in Greece, as it was in Brazil, countries that have a lot in common.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe deal reinforces Globo\u2019s positioning in the format rights market. Recently, the major banner saw a Peruvian version of \u201cHer Own Destiny\u201d and a Portuguese adaptation of \u201cHer Own Destiny.\u201d<\/p>\n
