Alexander Isak was on target again in the international break, but Liverpool may be concerned after hearing about Sweden boss Graham Potter’s plans for the striker\"Sweden's<\/p>\n

Alexander Isak continued his fine start to the season as he scored in Sweden\u2019s opening Nations League win over Romania on Friday.<\/p>\n

The Liverpool striker played the full 90 minutes and opened the scoring as his country came out 2-1 winners in Stockholm, with Arsenal<\/a> forward Viktor Gyokeres also on the scoresheet for Graham Potter\u2019s side.<\/p>\n

The goal continues what has been a vastly improved start to the season<\/a> for Isak<\/a> compared to his first year at Liverpool. The 27-year-old has already equaled his overall tally of goals for the Reds from the 2025\/26 campaign, having struck four times in the Premier League<\/a> so far, and is already closing in on the same amount of starts.<\/p>\n

There was more evidence of a rejuvenated Isak<\/a> as he supplied a confident first-time finish in the 20th minute against Romania. Much like his opening goal against Ipswich, the goalkeeper managed to get a hand on the strike, but couldn\u2019t had no answer to the speed and power in which Isak took his effort.<\/p>\n

Having made a winning start to the international break, Sweden now faces three more games before Isak can report back to Anfield.<\/p>\n

Poland is the next visitor to Scandinavia on September 28, before Isak and his teammates head to Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 2 and the away game in Romania on October 5.<\/p>\n

Having endured an injury-ravaged first season on Merseyside, Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola<\/a> may well hope to see Isak being given a rest at some point over the next couple of weeks, although it doesn\u2019t look as though he will get his wish.<\/p>\n

Sweden boss Potter has already indicated he could start Isak in all four games during the break<\/a>, and he won\u2019t be dissuaded after seeing his latest performance.<\/p>\n

“It’s not about rotating for the sake of rotating, as we want to win the games and try to play with our strongest team in every game,” Potter ahead of Friday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

“Alex has played a lot of games lately, is in a good place and as I know him he wants to start games, but we need to see how everyone is, how they react and recover.<\/p>\n

“Can Isak start every game? Potentially yes. But there’s no chance (he will) play all the minutes.”<\/p>\n

Liverpool.com says: It\u2019s great to say Isak in such good form at the moment. We just have to keep our fingers crossed that he isn\u2019t overworked during this international break.<\/p>\n
