{"id":64498,"date":"2025-10-07T05:09:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T05:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/64498\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T05:09:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T05:09:07","slug":"woman-24-charged-with-murder-of-man-found-stabbed-in-house-in-carrick-on-suir-tipperary-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/64498\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman (24) charged with murder of man found stabbed in house in Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">A 24-year-old woman has been remanded in custody after being charged with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/crime-law\/2025\/10\/05\/gardai-investigate-after-man-dies-in-reported-stabbing-in-tipperary\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/crime-law\/2025\/10\/05\/gardai-investigate-after-man-dies-in-reported-stabbing-in-tipperary\/\">murder of a man found with stab wounds in a house in Co Tipperary<\/a> over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Karolina Kovacova, of O\u2019Callaghan\u2019s Lane, Carrick-on-Suir, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/tipperary\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/tipperary\/\">Co Tipperary<\/a>, was charged with the murder of Pavel Javorski (47) at O\u2019Callaghan\u2019s Lane, Carrick-on-Suir, on October 4th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Ms Kovacova, a Czech national, was brought before Clonmel District Court on Monday afternoon where she was charged with the murder of Mr Javorski, also a Czech national.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Det Garda Ruair\u00ed Ryan, of Carrick-on-Suir Garda station, said he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/crime-law\/2025\/10\/05\/gardai-investigate-after-man-dies-in-reported-stabbing-in-tipperary\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/crime-law\/2025\/10\/05\/gardai-investigate-after-man-dies-in-reported-stabbing-in-tipperary\/\">arrested Ms Kovacova at about 2pm on Monday<\/a>. He said he charged her at 2.47pm with the murder of Mr Pavorski and she made no reply after caution. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">He said the charge was put to her with the assistance of a Czech interpreter. Ms Kovacova was assisted in court by a Czech interpreter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Judge John O\u2019Leary noted she could not apply for bail on a murder charge in the District Court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Sgt Tom O\u2019Brien said garda\u00ed wanted her remanded in custody to appear before Clonmel District Court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Ms Kovacova\u2019s solicitor, Aidan Leahy, said he had no difficulty with the State\u2019s application. He was granted legal aid. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Mr Leahy said his client would find being remanded in prison very difficult as she has no English.
