AFC Bournemouth<\/a> are reportedly \u2018unhappy and dismayed\u2019 at Chelsea target Alex Scott suffering a \u2018serious\u2019 injury while on England duty.<\/p>\n

Midfielder Scott <\/a>made his first senior England start during Saturday\u2019s statement 7-0 win against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.<\/p>\n

Scott would have been hoping to follow that up with another appearance in Tuesday\u2019s group tie against Czechia, but it has emerged on Monday morning that he has withdrawn from the squad and is set for a spell on the sidelines.<\/p>\n

The Bournemouth standout, who is attracting serious interest from Chelsea<\/a>, has made a stunning start to the 2026\/27 campaign, but respected reporter David Ornstein has now confirmed that he faces a two-month absence due to injury.<\/p>\n

Ornstein said on X: \u2018Alex Scott out of England squad & returning to Bournemouth through injury.<\/p>\n

Bournemouth react to Alex Scott injury blow<\/p>\n

The Telegraph have provided more details<\/a> on Scott\u2019s \u2018serious\u2019 injury, with it said tha he \u2018had felt an issue with his thigh a few days before the match against Croatia but still went on to play 70 minutes in Rijeka\u2019.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, Bournemouth are \u2018unhappy\u2019 at Scott\u2019s injury and have been \u2018left dismayed and frustrated\u2019 at being left without their star player for up to two months.<\/p>\n

The report adds:<\/p>\n

\u2018It is feared that Scott could be absent for as many as 10 Bournemouth matches, including the upcoming meetings with Chelsea and Manchester United.<\/p>\n

\u2018Scott\u2019s injury could give a starting opportunity to Everton\u2019s James Garner in England\u2019s match against the Czech Republic on Tuesday. Scott was replaced by Garner in the victory over Croatia.\u2019<\/p>\n

On Scott, England boss Thomas Tuchel acknowledged that his performance against Spain will put Arsenal star Declan Rice under pressure.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, and [Rice] does, we need performances like this,\u201d Tuchel said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is just the nature of it. We will not survive on two central midfielders. The more the better \u2013 and it\u2019s always about the guys who are in camp.<\/p>\n

\u201cDeclan knows about his importance, and he\u2019s one of the very best midfielders in Europe. Nothing will change that. But it\u2019s exactly what we need.<\/p>\n
