{"id":646414,"date":"2026-10-06T11:32:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-06T11:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/646414\/"},"modified":"2026-10-06T11:32:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T11:32:10","slug":"wealth-business-acquisition-completes-after-fca-approval-the-irish-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/646414\/","title":{"rendered":"Wealth business acquisition completes after FCA approval \u2013 The Irish News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The acquisition of Belfast\u2019s Legacy Wealth Management business by Dublin-based and AIB-owned wealth manager Goodbody has been formally completed following approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The move \u2013 which marks another important step in executing the broader AIB Group strategy to expand its wealth management business through targeted acquisitions \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/news\/business\/goodbody-strengthens-all-ireland-ambitions-with-move-to-acquire-belfasts-legacy-wealth-management-GZSR34WKOFGT7HCVWZJTCM2S3E\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/news\/business\/goodbody-strengthens-all-ireland-ambitions-with-move-to-acquire-belfasts-legacy-wealth-management-GZSR34WKOFGT7HCVWZJTCM2S3E\/\">was first mooted at the start of the summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Legacy office at Chichester Street in in Belfast, which employs 28 staff, advises on more than \u00a3680 million of client assets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">It has built a strong market position in Northern Ireland, supported by long-standing client relationships and a financial-planning-led advice model. <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/news\/business\/tyrone-screening-firm-triples-profits-after-running-costs-slashed-by-6m-AZLWSRYRXVG7NKILS6JQRCC224\/\" aria-hidden=\"true\" tabindex=\"-1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Tyrone screening firm triples profits after running costs slashed by &#xA3;6m\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/LXVBRPKMXZDT7GXNJV3CKB3JXE.jpeg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/><\/a><a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/news\/business\/david-gavaghan-how-could-belfast-get-it-so-wrong-with-loftlines-GBOQ6MKDWJDJHL3GWDAD4G66QA\/\" aria-hidden=\"true\" tabindex=\"-1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"David Gavaghan: How could Belfast get it so wrong with Loftlines?
