\n\tOmega<\/a> marked Oct. 5, James Bond<\/a> Day, by launching its new James Bond and Spectre watch collection and hosting a preview of the company\u2019s 007 exhibition at its boutique at The Americana at Brand mall in Glendale on Monday night.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe exhibition features props from various Bond movies, including the secret agent\u2019s British passport from 2015\u2019s \u201cSpectre,\u201d his toothbrush from \u201cNo Time to Die\u201d (2021) and casino chips from \u201cCasino Royale\u201d (2006), among many other things.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a separate room, archival Omega James Bond watches were on display as were the new Bond and Spectre Seamaster Diver 300M pieces. There are six new watches. Three bear the James Bond symbol and the other three with the symbol of Spectre, 007\u2019s enemy criminal syndicate headed by the white Persian cat-loving Ernst Stavro Blofeld.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile the well-groomed guests \u2014 including actor Zane Phillips and a gaggle of models, influencers, creative directors, stylists and members of the press \u2014 oohed and aahed over the timepieces, the real main topic of conversation was the casting of the next James Bond.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDo you think they\u2019ll announce the new James Bond tonight?\u201d more than one guest was heard asking at the exhibition and during a dinner later on hosted by Omega CEO Raynald Aeschlimann at the Sunset Tower Hotel.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI hope they go with a newcomer,\u201d was another frequent statement. Guests also debated why well-known actors like Jacob Elordi and Callum Turner were right, or not so right, for the part. \u201cI was really hoping it would be Idris Elba,\u201d one guest declared.<\/p>\n

\n\tMore than a handful believe it will be Jack Lowden, especially after his \u201cSlow Horses\u201d co-star Gary Oldman made headlines in early September when he claimed in an interview that the next Bond had been picked. Oldman later clarified that he had no insight into the casting process and was just expressing hope that Lowden was going to get the job.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhoever gets the gig, one thing is for sure \u2014 he\u2019ll be donning Omega watches. The company has been the official timepiece for the Bond franchise since 1995.<\/p>\n
