{"id":649549,"date":"2026-10-09T12:14:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T12:14:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/649549\/"},"modified":"2026-10-09T12:14:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T12:14:10","slug":"do-you-support-the-public-sector-strike-taking-place-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/649549\/","title":{"rendered":"Do you support the public sector strike taking place next week?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS across the country <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thejournal.ie\/public-sector-strike-ireland-7183494-Oct2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">are set to go on strike<\/a> on 14 October.<\/p>\n<p>Disruption is expected across hospitals, schools and government services.<\/p>\n<p>The move is part of wider industrial action which began <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thejournal.ie\/topic-public-sector-industrial-actionwork-to-rule-in-7177567-Sep2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">last week<\/a> as over 100,000 public sector workers began a work-to-rule amid a dispute over pay and the cost of living.<\/p>\n<p>The Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (ASTI) has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thejournal.ie\/teachers-strike-pay-dispute-public-sector-talks-7187663-Oct2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">an additional day of industrial action<\/a> planned for later this month, with general secretary Linda Kelly saying teachers were prepared to lose a day\u2019s wages by going on strike.<\/p>\n<p>So, today we\u2019re asking: Do you support the public sector strike taking place next week?<\/p>\n<p>\n  Poll Results:<\/p>\n<p>Not sure \/ No opinion (127)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS across the country are set to go on strike on 14 October.
