{"id":650708,"date":"2026-10-10T16:10:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-10T16:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/650708\/"},"modified":"2026-10-10T16:10:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-10T16:10:09","slug":"dermot-kennedy-to-postpone-rest-of-us-tour-due-to-laryngitis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/650708\/","title":{"rendered":"Dermot Kennedy to postpone rest of US tour due to laryngitis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DERMOT KENNEDY HAS announced the postponement of the rest of his US tour to avoid suffering \u201clong-lasting damage\u201d to his vocal cords.<\/p>\n<p>The Dublin singer had next been due to play in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>However, Kennedy has shared a statement on social media announcing he needed to postpone the remainder of his shows after an infection left his vocal cords \u201cvery swollen\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went to see another specialist in Atlanta today, and it turns out the laryngitis still isn\u2019t gone, and because of the infection my vocal cords are still very swollen\u201d, the singer wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t sing right now, and I wouldn\u2019t be able to make it through a show, and if I did force myself to carry on without healing fully, I\u2019d just end up doing real long-lasting damage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this point the best option is to reschedule the remaining dates of this tour so I can come back and give you the show you deserve when the time is right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\" xml:lang=\"en\">A little update.
