For comparison, investor-owned utilities made capital expenditures of $765 billion in the five-year period through the end of 2024, new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eei.org\/News\/news\/All\/electric-companies-to-invest-nearly-$208b-in-2025-to-strengthen-grid-and-drive-economic-growth\" title=\"Link to Statement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"media-ui-Link_link-tVkXhPLPofs-\" data-component=\"link\">data<\/a> from EEI shows.
