She said she was \u201ctreated like Julia Roberts\u2019 character in Pretty Woman\u201d when dealing with staff in the shop and claims she was \u201clooked at as if [she] couldn\u2019t afford it\u201d and the staff member in question \u201ccould find something comparable\u201d for her to buy.<\/p>\n
The item in question: a \u201cunique singing and dancing bird\u201d figure called Molly retailing for an eye-watering $15,000 (\u20ac13,000).\u00a0<\/p>\n

After Clarkson\u2019s initial post, Art of Play responded on their own social media and said that Molly is a permanent fixture on the wall and she \u201cisn\u2019t for sale\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n
They said though \u201cthe negative experience Kelly described on twitter would resonate with anyone who has ever felt judged in a shop\u201d, their business was then \u201cattacked by\u00a08 million people who have never visited [their] store\u201d.<\/p>\n
That might have been the end of the scandal and a solid two days of internet discourse. But no, Clarkson hit back again.<\/p>\n
The singer screenshotted Art of Play\u2019s response and disputed their claim that the bird was not for sale.<\/p>\n
She said she asked the staff member if Molly was for sale \u201cwhilst pointing to the price tag hanging on the wall\u201d and, according to Clarkson, he then \u201celevator eyed\u201d her and said \u201cyes, it\u2019s for sale but it costs 15,000 dollars so if you\u2019d like me to find something comparable for you I can\u201d in a \u201ccondescending tone\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Cool, cool. Sure, it wasn\u2019t for sale. That\u2019s the narrative Art of Play is gonna go with \ud83d\udc4d so the whole conversation we had when I asked you if it was for sale whilst pointing to the price tag hanging on the wall with the title Singing Bird didn\u2019t happen as you elevator eyed me saying in a condescending tone \u201cyes, it\u2019s for sale but it costs 15,000 dollars so if you\u2019d like me to find something comparable for you I can.\u201d That all never happened and now it\u2019s not for sale. \nAnd by the way, I obviously support small businesses because I was literally at a small business trying to purchase things. I love small businesses and know they are important and I always support them, but you don\u2019t get a free pass to treat people less than in your store just because you are a small business. It\u2019s not that hard to be kind. I never blast people but you my friend were an exception.
