An infant has died following a road traffic incident in Dublin this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed and emergency services attended the scene outside a residence in Rathmintin, Jobstown, Dublin 24, that occurred at approximately 2pm this afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cA male infant was transferred from the scene to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased,\u201d a garda spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been appointed to support the family at this time.<\/p>\n

A technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators has since been conducted.<\/p>\n

No further information is being made available.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, garda\u00ed and emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision in Co Cavan.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understood a female motorist was seriously injured in the single vehicle crash which took place on a rural road in the Crosskeys area of the county shortly before 4pm this afternoon.<\/p>\n

The road itself has been closed and is likely to remain shut off to traffic overnight with local diversions in place.<\/p>\n

\u201cGarda\u00ed and emergency services are currently at scene of a serious road traffic collision that occurred on a local road in Carrickatober, Crosskeys, Co. Cavan this afternoon Tuesday 7th October, 2025 at approximately 3.30pm,\u201d said a garda spokesperson.<\/p>\n
