{"id":656167,"date":"2026-10-16T03:56:11","date_gmt":"2026-10-16T03:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/656167\/"},"modified":"2026-10-16T03:56:11","modified_gmt":"2026-10-16T03:56:11","slug":"gardai-investigating-after-body-of-unidentified-man-found-in-undergrowth-in-mallow-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/656167\/","title":{"rendered":"Garda\u00ed investigating after body of unidentified man found in undergrowth in Mallow \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\">Garda\u00ed<\/a> have begun an investigation after the body of an unidentified man was discovered in undergrowth by a walkway at Ballyellis, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/mallow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/mallow\/\">Mallow<\/a>, Co <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/cork\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/cork\">Cork<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The body, which had visible injuries, was found by a person walking their dog on the banks of the  Blackwater river on the Killavullen side of Mallow at 1.30pm on Thursday. It is a popular area for walkers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Assistant state pathologist Dr Margot Bolster was carrying out a preliminary examination of the scene. It is believed the body had not been in situ for a long period.
