{"id":656217,"date":"2026-10-16T05:06:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-16T05:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/656217\/"},"modified":"2026-10-16T05:06:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-16T05:06:10","slug":"ten-children-and-one-adult-hospitalised-after-excess-chlorine-incident-at-dublin-pool-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/656217\/","title":{"rendered":"Ten children and one adult hospitalised after \u2018excess chlorine incident\u2019 at Dublin pool \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Ten children and an adult have been brought to hospital after an \u201cexcess chlorine incident\u201d occurred at a swimming pool in the Clayton Hotel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/liffey-valley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/liffey-valley\">Liffey Valley<\/a> in west <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\">Dublin<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The Dalata Hotel Group said the incident happened at around 3.35pm on Thursday and emergency services were immediately notified. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cWe can confirm that 23 people in total, who were using the pool at the time of the incident, were medically assessed having complained of feeling unwell,\u201d it said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cTen children and one adult were brought to hospital and are receiving medical attention. Following the incident the swimming pool has been closed, in accordance with the company\u2019s safety and emergency procedures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cWe can confirm that our emergency plan was activated immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A \u201cthorough investigation\u201d of the circumstances surrounding the incident will take place as soon as possible, the hotel group added. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cOur immediate thoughts are with those impacted and their families.
