{"id":659076,"date":"2026-10-19T06:20:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-19T06:20:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/659076\/"},"modified":"2026-10-19T06:20:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T06:20:09","slug":"three-arrested-after-gardai-chase-stolen-car-on-m50-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/659076\/","title":{"rendered":"Three arrested after garda\u00ed chase stolen car on M50 \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Three males have been arrested in West Dublin following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/garda-siochana\/\">Garda<\/a> chase of a stolen car on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/m50\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/m50\/\">M50<\/a>, in which a Garda helicopter and the armed support unit were deployed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Two of those arrested were in their 20s and the third was a teenager. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Shortly after 7pm on Sunday, garda\u00ed from Dublin metropolitan north division, on patrol as part of a continuing investigation into multiple burglaries, observed a car with several occupants on the Naul Road near <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin-airport\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin-airport\/\">Dublin Airport<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The car failed to stop and was pursued by garda\u00ed. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cA co-ordinated response was launched, involving several local and divisional Garda units from across the Dublin region, including the armed support unit and air support,\u201d said garda\u00ed in a statement. \u2018\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThe vehicle came to a stop on the M50 near Clondalkin, where three males \u2013 two in their 20s and one juvenile in his mid-teens \u2013 were subsequently arrested.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cAll three are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Garda stations in north Dublin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The Volkswagen Golf car they had been driving was reported stolen during a recent burglary in the Santry area.
