Dolly Parton\u2019s younger sister is calling on fans \u201cto be prayer warriors and pray with me\u201d as the beloved pop culture icon takes a break from the spotlight for her health. <\/p>\n
Freida Parton penned her public plea for support on Facebook<\/a>, writing on Tuesday that she had been \u201cup all night praying for my sister, Dolly.\u201d Freida is one of the \u201cJolene\u201d singer\u2019s 11 siblings.<\/p>\n \u201cMany of you know she hasn\u2019t been feeling her best lately,\u201d she added, asking that the \u201cworld that loves her\u201d lend its support. \u201cShe\u2019s strong, she\u2019s loved and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she\u2019s going to be just fine.\u201d<\/p>\n She concluded her post: \u201cGodspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!\u201d<\/p>\n Freida publicly expressed concern for her sister a week after she called off numerous upcoming concerts<\/a> in Las Vegas to address her health. The \u201c9 to 5\u201d star announced on social media she would delay six concerts at Caesars Palace scheduled for December.<\/p>\n \u201cAs many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,\u201d Parton, 79, said in a statement<\/a> posted to her Instagram and X accounts. \u201cAs I joked with them, it must be for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it\u2019s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!\u201d<\/p>\n Parton did not share additional information about her condition at the time. A representative for the entertainer did not immediately respond to a request for comment. <\/p>\n Last month, Parton also missed the announcement of a new Dollywood attraction<\/a> as she was recovering from a kidney stone. In a video about her absence, she explained the \u201clittle problem,\u201d noting the kidney stone had led to an infection and that it was doctor\u2019s orders to stay put. She reassured fans she was at the reveal event in spirit.<\/p>\n
