{"id":665273,"date":"2026-10-25T21:48:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-25T21:48:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/665273\/"},"modified":"2026-10-25T21:48:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-25T21:48:09","slug":"foul-play-ruled-out-in-death-of-man-35-near-crookstown-co-cork-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/665273\/","title":{"rendered":"Foul play ruled out in death of man (35) near Crookstown, Co Cork \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\">Garda\u00ed<\/a> have ruled out foul play in the death of a 35-year-old man whose body was found in a house in mid-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/cork\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/cork\/\">Cork<\/a> after they received the results of a postmortem examination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The body of the man, a native of Dunmanway in west Cork, was found by the emergency services when they responded to a 999 call from a rented house at Currahaly, Farran, on the main N22 Cork to Macroom Road at around 3.30am on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The man, who had suffered head injuries, was pronounced dead at the scene. Garda\u00ed immediately cordoned off the scene and requested the services of the State Pathologist\u2019s Office. and Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster confirmed following her postmortem on the deceased at Cork University Hospital that the head injuries were the result of a fall where the man hit his head, and were not caused by a blow.
