{"id":666353,"date":"2026-10-27T01:24:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-27T01:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/666353\/"},"modified":"2026-10-27T01:24:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-27T01:24:08","slug":"castlerea-home-gutted-by-fire-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/666353\/","title":{"rendered":"Castlerea home gutted by fire &#8211; News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\"> Fire caused \u201csignificant damage\u201d to a house in the Castlerea area on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Fire brigades from Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon Town and Ballyhaunis rushed to the scene of the blaze at Cloondahara, on the outskirts of Castlerea town at 10.30 p.m. on Saturday, October 24th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The fire is understood to have started in the stove and chimney and spread into the attic space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThere was significant damage to the building but no injuries were sustained,\u201d said a spokesperson for the fire service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Local Fianna F\u00e1il councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice said he was \u201cvery thankful to the crews from other areas who got there as quickly as they could\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">He added that the fire reiterated the point that \u201cwe do need our own fire service in Castlerea and I&#8217;m now calling on Roscommon County Council to start the process to reopen our fire station.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Fire caused \u201csignificant damage\u201d to a house in the Castlerea area on Saturday night.
