{"id":666487,"date":"2026-10-27T04:26:25","date_gmt":"2026-10-27T04:26:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/666487\/"},"modified":"2026-10-27T04:26:25","modified_gmt":"2026-10-27T04:26:25","slug":"ai-delivers-zero-financial-payoff-to-most-companies-apollo-economist-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/666487\/","title":{"rendered":"AI delivers \u2018zero financial payoff\u2019 to most companies, Apollo economist says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI hasn\u2019t benefited the bottom line of any big corporations outside the tech industry, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apollo.com\/wealth\/insights-news\/insights\/daily-spark\/no-signs-of-ai-payoff-outside-the-tech-sector\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a note<\/a> recently published by the chief economist at Apollo Global Management (the private equity giant that used to own TechCrunch).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apollo\u2019s Torsten Slok focuses on what he calls the S&amp;P 493 \u2014 the S&amp;P 500, minus Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla \u2014 finding that profit margins and revenue per worker appear to be flat, with no evidence that AI is improving productivity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDespite massive investments and widespread hype around artificial intelligence, the technology has delivered zero financial payoff to corporate America outside of tech,\u201d Slok said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is this simply a matter of non-tech companies lagging behind the tech giants?
