The Clifford boot.

Kerry great David Clifford and McKvr have launched ‘the Clifford Boot’ for young players, with the product going on sale from 10am on Tuesday.

Designed specifically for young GAA players, the Clifford Boot marks a significant step for the Irish, family-run brand as it moves into footwear for the first time.

The boot launches as part of McKvr’s ‘Kick Like Clifford’ campaign, fronted by David himself and comes in a bold red and black while it is available as velcro or laced in junior and adult sizes up to size 10.

The Clifford Boot is the first step in McKvr’s move into footwear with a separate high-end boot, distinct from the Clifford range, for elite players in development although it is set to come to market in 2027.

“Bringing our first youth football boot to market is a proud moment for McKvr,” said Padraic McKeever, Managing Director, McKvr.

“Footwear is a new category for us, and following the recent launch of our first gym range, it reflects how we’re broadening our offering and growing as a sports brand.

“It’s an exciting time for the business and to do it alongside David Clifford, and for the young players who look up to him, makes it all the more special.”

David Clifford, McKvr Brand Ambassador, added: “To have a boot with my name on it, that young players can lace up and go practice in is a brilliant feeling.

“For me it’s always been about the training and the repetition, and if these boots get a few more kids out there bettering themselves, that means a lot.

“I hope it gets them out onto the pitch putting in the same work and getting the same enjoyment.”
