\"Sunny The Deol men saw a tremendous amount of success and fame in recent times. Be it Dharmendra\u2019s \u2018Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,\u2019 Sunny Deol<\/a>\u2019s \u2018Gadar 2,\u2019 or Bobby Deol\u2019s \u2018Animal,\u2019 every movie left the cash register ringing at the box office. However, the \u2018Gadar\u2019 star feels that despite giving some of the biggest hits recently, initially the Deols didn\u2019t receive their due credit. As Sunny<\/a>‘s action drama ‘Indian’ turns 25, he reflects on the movie and explains why he feels the Deols have often had to wait for recognition.<\/p>\n

Speaking to us exclusively, Sunny Deol says, \u201cI haven\u2019t forgotten the shooting of that film at all. It was one of my biggest hits, though credit for its success was, as usual, denied, at least initially.\u201dHe further explains, \u201cWhen it comes to us Deols, we have received credit for our achievements rather reluctantly, at least until recently.The talking about the film he mentions, \u2018Indian\u2019 was directed by N. Maharajan and produced by my father under our banner, Vijayta Films. It was a remake of his Tamil film. I normally don\u2019t do remakes. But I saw the original and loved it.\u201dFor the unversed, \u2018Indian\u2019 was a remake of \u2018Vallarasu\u2019 and Sunny\u2019s \u201csecond home production after \u2018Dillagi.\u2019\u201d He shares, \u201cThere were no drastic changes made to the original script. The only thing changed was the cultural references in order to suit the northern audiences. I played an honest cop, Rajashekhar Azad, who would go to any extent to fight for what is right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sunny Deol acknowledges that audiences enjoy seeing him in the image of a \u2018saviour\u2019<\/p>\n

Over the years, Sunny Deol has played an upright cop several times. On the other hand, his negative roles can be counted on fingers. He agrees that the audience has an image of him in their hearts, and he has no complaint about it. \u201cI\u2019ve played dark characters a few times. The audience didn\u2019t like it.\u201d\u201cI am proud of that image. The audience likes to see me as a saviour,\u201d he concludes.Speaking of his characters, the audience can\u2019t wait to see him as Lord Hanuman in Nitesh Tiwari\u2019s epic \u2018Ramayana.\u2019 The latest buzz says that the post-credit scene at the Los Angeles premiere of the movie teased the audience with Deol\u2019s character look.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Deol men saw a tremendous amount of success and fame in recent times.
