\n\tUnlike his HBO<\/a> network-mate Bill Maher<\/a>, who\u2019s been embroiled in a bizarre pissing match with his dinner-mate Donald Trump<\/a>, John Oliver<\/a> has been laser-focused on the Nov. 3 midterm elections. Just last week, Oliver dedicated the bulk of \u201cLast Week Tonight\u201d to exposing the disturbing ties between MAGA midterm candidates and neo-Nazis<\/a>. And Sunday night, he focused not only on how Trump\u2019s rallies have gotten increasingly unhinged, but also that most Republican midterm candidates have been distancing themselves from Trump given his low approval ratings.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring Trump\u2019s recent midterm convention, he led the crowd in a pledge to vote red during the midterms that began: \u201cI pledge, to the greatest president in the history of the United States, that loves us so much he can\u2019t even breathe,\u201d followed by, \u201cYou know what happens if you don\u2019t vote? You go to hell.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOK, there is so much there, from asking them to repeat a sentence clearly too long for them to the line, \u2018Loves us so much he can\u2019t even breathe,\u2019\u201d quipped Oliver. \u201cWhat in the Paramore lyrics is he even talking about there?! As for \u2018vote or you\u2019ll go to hell,\u2019 I\u2019ll say this: Huge, if true. Imagine if Jeffrey Epstein got to hell and said, \u2018Oh, because all the stuff?\u2019 And the Devil said, \u2018No \u2014 lack of civic engagement.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump has also intimated a number of times that a vote for the Republicans during the midterms is a vote for him, though a recent report in The New Yorker revealed that \u201cmore than 99% of GOP ad spending is now going to spots that do not mention Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers of Michigan was asked by Kristen Welker on NBC News\u2019 Meet the Press, \u201cIs a vote for you a vote for the Trump agenda?\u201d Rogers claimed, \u201cI\u2019m apologizing, I\u2019m having some difficulty in my earpiece.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCue Oliver: \u201cYeah, nice try, Mike, but that was pretty obvious! I haven\u2019t seen someone dodge a question that shamelessly since I spent three hours gasping aloud at two complete lunatics who\u2019ve never blinked once in their lives,\u201d before pointing to a picture of convicted scam artist Elizabeth Holmes<\/a> and her partner Billy Evans<\/a> in the Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim documentary \u201cYou Can See Everything.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tAnd apparently, the staff of \u201cLast Week Tonight\u201d has become so obsessed with the doc that it\u2019s getting in the way of the show.<\/p>\n
