Businesses are buying computing power, and the companies supplying it are racing to expand capacity. <\/p>\n But selling more doesn’t automatically leave shareholders with more. The AI infrastructure spending boom requires cash today, while its financial rewards may arrive years later. It also expects capital spending to increase in 2027. <\/p>\n That’s a concrete cost, even without another interest-rate increase. Greater reliance on complex AI financing arrangements adds another reason to inspect funding obligations alongside reported profits. <\/p>\n Microsoft isn’t immune. Its quarterly free cash flow declined approximately 27% from $25.7 billion a year earlier, despite remaining positive.
