Another November, another this-feels-way-too-early Mariah Carey \u201cIt\u2019s Time!!!!\u201d video. And this year, Carey has a title to reclaim after Ella Langley surpassed her record<\/a> for the longest-leading hit song on Billboard\u2019s \u201cHot 100\u201d chart this past September. Carey\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d has topped the list for 22 nonconsecutive weeks since Christmas 2019, but Langley\u2019s \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d has been sitting at the No. 1 spot for 25 nonconsecutive weeks since February. In April, Carey was also snubbed of an induction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame<\/a> for the third year in a row. This Christmas is Carey\u2019s opportunity to return to her throne, and the queen has already decreed the start of the season.<\/p>\n In this year\u2019s \u201cIt\u2019s Time!!!!\u201d video, Carey makes a callback to her alternative grunge band Chick, performing her 1995 song \u201cHermit\u201d from Someone\u2019s Ugly Daughter in a crowded New York City bar while wearing a pink wig, cat ears, and black glitter lipstick. At the stroke of midnight on November 1, she dives into the crowd, hits her signature high note, and instantly gets transported to the top of a giant Christmas tree surrounded by snowy mountains, where she sings her holiday anthem.<\/p>\n \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d has already reentered Spotify\u2019s \u201cTop 50 Global\u201d chart at No. 32, ironically right above \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d at No. 34 \u2014 and it\u2019s only up from there.
