\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExplanation:\u00a0Did this meteor come from that comet? Probably not. Although many\u00a0meteors<\/a>\u00a0do originate from comets, there are\u00a0thousands<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0comets<\/a>\u00a0that have visited the inner\u00a0Solar System<\/a>\u00a0recently, and matching meteors to them can be tricky. And to be clear, the\u00a0pictured comet<\/a>\u00a0is far behind the\u00a0streaking meteor<\/a>. Comet\u00a0C\/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS)<\/a>\u00a0was captured from\u00a0Hautacam<\/a>,\u00a0France<\/a>\u00a0in April when the\u00a0giant space iceberg<\/a>\u00a0sported impressive\u00a0ion<\/a>\u00a0(blue) and dust\u00a0tails<\/a>. Sand-sized rocky debris that enters\u00a0Earth\u2019s atmosphere<\/a>\u00a0typically appears as\u00a0meteors<\/a>, while the\u00a0colorful foreground streak<\/a>\u00a0here may indicate a complicated composition. This month three\u00a0notable meteor showers<\/a>\u00a0will reach their peaks. Over the next few days, the Southern\u00a0Taurids<\/a>\u00a0will be reaching their apex, while the Northern\u00a0Taurids<\/a>\u00a0will top out about a week later. Both originate from\u00a0Comet 2P\/Encke<\/a>. November is most famous for the\u00a0Leonids Meteor Shower<\/a>, though, which originates from\u00a0Comet 55P\/Tempel-Tuttle<\/a>\u00a0and will\u00a0reach its crescendo<\/a>\u00a0in about two weeks.<\/p>\n
