{"id":674182,"date":"2026-11-04T00:26:11","date_gmt":"2026-11-04T00:26:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/674182\/"},"modified":"2026-11-04T00:26:11","modified_gmt":"2026-11-04T00:26:11","slug":"luas-red-line-services-disrupted-after-car-gets-stuck-on-track-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/674182\/","title":{"rendered":"Luas red line services disrupted after car gets stuck on track \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The red line <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/luas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/luas\/\">Luas<\/a> service has been disrupted by a car getting stuck on the tracks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Services are not operating between Belgard and Heuston Luas stops due to the vehicle entering the Luas track near the stop at Blackhorse and becoming trapped.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In a post on X, Luas said the car is \u201cembedded\u201d on the track and requires a specialist crane to remove it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The post, made at about 8pm on Tuesday, said the crane was on its way and the public would be kept up to -date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Maintenance teams were on site working to have the car removed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Removing the vehicle was expected to take a number of hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Red line services are only operating between Tallaght\/Saggart and Belgard and from Heuston to The Point\/Connolly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Luas apologised for any inconvenience caused and said tickets are valid on Dublin Bus, adding that all green line services are operating normally.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Red Line operating Tallaght \/ Saggart to Belgard &#8211; Heuston to The Point &#8211; this car is embedded on Luas track at Blackhorse and requires a crane to remove it ! &#8211; the crane is on the way.
