Bob Dylan<\/a> \u200chas spent more than six decades knocking on heaven\u2019s door. On Wednesday, the door \u200copened at the Vatican<\/a>, where the legendary musician had a private audience with \u200bPope Leo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Leo and Dylan, fellow travellers from the US<\/a> Midwest, were seen meeting together in the pope\u2019s office at the ornate Apostolic Palace in photographs shared by the Vatican\u2019s newspaper on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 71-year-old leader of the Catholic \u2060Church<\/a> wore his customary white cassock. <\/p>\n

Dylan, the acoustic songbird \u200cwho \u200cwent electric \u200bin the 1960s, wore a black coat, black gloves and a black hooded sweatshirt.<\/p>\n

Rev Antonio Spadaro, \u2060a Vatican official \u200band Jesuit known for building relationships \u200bbetween the church and figures in the entertainment industry, said on \u200cInstagram that he had helped arrange \u200bthe meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was hard not to feel the emotion \u2060of being part of \u2060an encounter that \u200bhad a real sense of history about it, with the feeling that, at every step through the Apostolic Palace, absolutely anything could happen!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Vatican press office did not immediately comment on whether Leo and Dylan had discussed anything blowing in the wind.<\/p>\n

The Vatican\u2019s newspaper \u200csaid Leo had \u201creceived in \u2060private audience Mr Robert Allen Zimmerman\u201d, using the name the musician was given at birth in Duluth, Minnesota.<\/p>\n

The pope, \u200coriginally from Chicago, is known to be a Dylan fan.
