An Aer Lingus<\/a> \u200bplane flying from \u200bDublin to Rome \u2060has been \u200cdiverted \u200cto \u200bFrance\u2019s \u00c9vreux \u2060airbase following \u200ba bomb \u200balert.<\/p>\n

The Airbus A320 has landed safely at the airbase in the Normandy region. <\/p>\n

The situation is being monitored, the \u200coffice of \u200bFrench prime minister S\u00e9bastien \u2060Lecornu \u2060said \u200bon Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u2060Lecornu\u2019s office said the 151 passengers and six crew on board were moved to a safe place when the plane landed.<\/p>\n

\u201cAer Lingus flight EI402 from Dublin to Rome diverted to Normandy this morning as a security precaution,\u201d Aer Lingus said in a statment. \u201cThe flight landed safely and Aer Lingus will work to reaccommodate customers to their final destination as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The plane crossed the English Channel on a normal flight path to Rome before veering southwest of Paris and circling Chartres airport and diverting towards \u00c9vreux.<\/p>\n

Le Figaro reported that the plane was escorted on approach by a French Rafale fighter jet. The original bomb threat alert reportedly came from the Italian authorities.<\/p>\n

A number of other flights were disrupted across Europe on Thursday. <\/p>\n

Belgian media reported \u2060that an airliner forced to land at Brussels\u2019 Zaventem airport belonged \u200cto \u200cthe \u200bPolish airline Lot.<\/p>\n

A Finnair plane from Helsinki was safely escorted to its scheduled landing in Rome \u2060by the Italian \u200bair force, a source close to \u200bthe matter said.<\/p>\n

Bulgarian officials reported three aircraft making emergency landings because \u200cof bomb threats. Airplanes flying from \u200bCopenhagen and Madrid landed in Sofia, the interior minister said, according \u2060to broadcaster bTV. A third \u2060aircraft, from \u200bLondon, landed in Plovdiv, local media said.<\/p>\n

Flightradar24, one of the largest flight tracker websites in the world, also said that \u201cno aircraft have departed from Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in the past 30 minutes\u201d.<\/p>\n

The incident comes just two days after seven planes across Europe were searched or diverted <\/a>after malicious hoax bomb alerts, including two Ryanair<\/a> flights that originated in Dublin. <\/p>\n

While no country has attributed blame for the threats, they come at a time when European officials have been \u200cblaming both Russia and \u2060Iran for what they describe as \u201chybrid attacks\u201d and acts of sabotage. Moscow and Tehran both deny any such \u200ccampaign.<\/p>\n
