\n\tRosamund Pike<\/a> will star in and produce \u201cFeed,\u201d a new body horror movie from \u201cThe Acolyte\u201d director Leslye Headland<\/a> and screenwriter Daniella Isaacs.<\/p>\n

\n\tInspired by the 2022 Finnish horror movie \u201cHatching,\u201d the official logline for \u201cFeed\u201d reads: \u201cWhen a desperate mother discovers an obscure collagen supplement that promises to make her tween gymnast daughter an influencer star, the fame and success they crave come fast. But as her daughter goes viral, she begins a monstrous transformation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLong have I wanted to make a film that plays anarchically with our obsession with social media and self-improvement, our desire for fame without notable admirable skill and, let\u2019s put it out there, the monstrosity of modern motherhood,\u201d Pike said. \u201c\u2018Feed\u2019 deals with all these things.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tPike will produce through her Primitive Streak banner. Other producers include Shelley Browning for Magnolia Entertainment, Steven Schneider for Spooky Pictures, Ara Keshishian and Petr Jakl for ZQ Entertainment and Sam Ritzenberg for Agile Films. ZQ Entertainment financed development on the project. The Veterans will represent the international sales rights, with CAA Media Finance handling the United States. Sales will commence at the American Film Market next week.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDaniella\u2019s script is audacious, disturbing and deeply human and Rosamund is among the boldest actors working today,\u201d Headland added. \u201cI couldn\u2019t ask for better partners to take on the darker corners of this story and I feel incredibly lucky to be making this film with two women whose work I admire so much.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tPike, best known for her roles in \u201cGone Girl,\u201d \u201cPride & Prejduice\u201d and \u201cDie Another Day,\u201d was last seen in Guy Ritchie\u2019s action comedy \u201cIn the Grey\u201d alongside Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal. Her other recent film credits include \u201cLadies First,\u201d \u201cNow You See Me: Now You Don\u2019t\u201d and \u201cHallow Road.\u201d In 2027, she will reunite with Ritchie for \u201cWife and Dog,\u201d which also stars Anthony Hopkins and Benedict Cumberbatch. <\/p>\n

\n\tHeadland has been out of the director\u2019s chair ever since helming the short-lived Disney+ series \u201cThe Acolyte.\u201d Before that, she directed series such as \u201cSingle Drunk Female,\u201d \u201cAlmost Family\u201d and \u201cBlack Monday.\u201d Her last feature directorial credit was all the way back in 2015 with \u201cSleeping with Other People.\u201d Coming up, she has \u201cCult of Love,\u201d a Christmas family dramedy currently in pre-production. <\/p>\n
