Matt Wright was privately battling health problems prior to his shocking death at 52<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Page Six has learned that those close to the late talk show producer knew he suffered from \u201cheart problems\u201d prior to his passing. An official cause of death has not been revealed.<\/p>\n

Wright died in his sleep in Los Angeles on Oct. 30. Shortly after his passing, a GoFundMe was established to help<\/a> transfer Wright\u2019s body back to his hometown in New York for a proper burial.<\/p>\n

The raised funds will also go toward a memorial in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s talk of a celebration of life happening, most likely in LA and NYC as he had so many people close to him on both coasts,\u201d a source said.<\/p>\n

Any remaining contributions will support Wright\u2019s \u201cpride and joy\u201d \u2014 his niece, Sami, the page said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The campaign was set up because Wright and his husband, Justin Fusella, were both laid off from their jobs earlier this summer.<\/p>\n

Over the course of 16 years working at \u201cThe Ellen DeGeneres Show,\u201d Wright ultimately earned the role of Executive Producer \u2014 a testament to his work ethic.<\/p>\n

The nine-time Emmy-winning producer also worked for \u201cThe View,\u201d \u201cThe Drew Barrymore Show\u201d and \u201cThe Jennifer Hudson Show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wright visited Hudson on set <\/a>just hours before his death.<\/p>\n

The campaign launched with a goal of $50,000, though it has since nearly doubled.<\/p>\n

DeGeneres made a public $5,000 donation<\/a> to the GoFundMe and quickly drew backlash<\/a> for the amount.<\/p>\n
