In a candid discussion, Sam recalled visiting the psychologist because she believed that “something was wrong” with her and she needed to “fix it to fix [her] relationship” .

She went on to say that the psychologist told her: “Oh honey, you’re in an abusive relationship. And I was like ‘No, no, no it’s because I’m telling you all the bad things’.”

Discussing further about what the psychologist said, the actor followed up: “She said, ‘Who were you before this relationship? Tell me about Sam, who is she?’ And I burst into tears. Frost continued: “When you’re in an emotionally abusive relationship it’s hard because they’re using tactics on you to manipulate you, because you’re vulnerable, because they know your weaknesses, they know the things that are broken about you, but because I was like, ‘Oh well he didn’t hit me’, it can’t be that abusive’, yes it is. It’s still abusive, yes it is.”

Alongside her Home and Away role, Frost has appeared in several other TV shows, including My Road to Adventure, The All New Monty: Guys and Gals, and Australian Survivor.

In 2022, she was asked about whether she’d ever return to the soap, to which she responded that while she was concentrating on “being a mum”, she wasn’t against the idea, adding: “Never say never.”
