\n\tBill Skarsgard<\/a> is feeling \u201cspent\u201d when it comes to playing villains. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe 36-year-old actor is known for taking on dark characters, including Pennywise in the It movies, Count Orlok in Nosferatu, Eric Draven in The Crow and Marquis Vincent Bisset de Gramont in John Wick: Chapter 4. But during a recent episode of Josh Horowitz\u2019s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Skarsgard explained that he\u2019s becoming more selective about taking on villain roles. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor a villain, it would have to be something that felt original to me, that was something that I hadn\u2019t done before,\u201d Skarsgard said. \u201cI feel, kind of, spent with those things. But there\u2019s villains [that] could be really fun in different ways and if it\u2019s the right kind.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tHorowitz then brought up Skarsgard\u2019s longtime interest<\/a> in playing a villain in the James Bond<\/a> franchise. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYeah! Well, because they didn\u2019t call me about James Bond. I don\u2019t know what that was about,\u201d Skarsgard quipped. \u201cMaybe they were like, \u2018We can\u2019t do a Swede for this guy.\u2019 I wasn\u2019t even thrown into the mix.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Dead Man\u2019s Wire actor agreed with Horowitz that he wouldn\u2019t necessarily want to commit to leading the James Bond franchise for 10 or 15 years. Instead, he said he\u2019d be interested in taking on a one-off villain role, citing Mads Mikkelsen and Javier Bardem as examples. <\/p>\n

\n\tSkarsgard\u2019s comments come as the search for the next actor to play 007 continues ahead of Denis Villeneuve\u2019s upcoming film. The Hollywood Reporter previously reported<\/a> that Callum Turner, Jack Lowden and Josh O\u2019Connor had screen tested for the part. However, on Friday, THR reported that Robert Pattinson<\/a> had also screen tested, while Nicholas Hoult\u2019s name has emerged as another potential contender. <\/p>\n
