The announcement has sparked a flood of reactions online \u2014 and not all of them are positive.\n<\/p>\n<p>Originally planned as Aashiqui 3, the film was expected to continue the popular Aashiqui franchise. However, due to disagreements with the banner holding the rights to the title, the makers had to drop the name. Fans hoped the issue would be resolved, but that didn\u2019t happen.\n<\/p>\n<p>Social media users are already comparing the film to Saiyaara, a recent blockbuster with a similar romantic premise. The movie stars Kartik Aaryan and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.m9.news\/bollywood\/sreeleela-dostana2-casting-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Sreeleela<\/a> in the lead roles, marking their first on-screen pairing.\n<\/p>\n<p>When Kartik\u2019s look from the film was unveiled, it drew strong reactions. Many felt his rugged bearded appearance looked repetitive and too similar to the Kabir Singh aesthetic. The criticism added to the film\u2019s growing list of pre-release troubles.\n<\/p>\n<p>With so much backlash even before release, the makers now face an uphill task.
