Emmerdale<\/a> has seen the last of one of its worst villains as a vicious character has been confirmed to have left the Dales for good.<\/p>\n

Fans have been shocked by some dark scenes concerning Vinny Dingle<\/a> and his abuser Graham Connolly aka Mike, a man who pretended to be romantically interested in Vinny to blackmail him. The scenes sparked nearly 300 Ofcom complaints<\/a> from viewers.<\/p>\n

After Vinny bravely testified against Graham in court, it seems the character will be locked away and won’t return to Emmerdale. <\/p>\n

Actor Macaulay Cooper, who portrays Graham, has confirmed all of his episodes have aired and addressed the importance of his storyline as one that has been lifted from real events.<\/p>\n

“That’s a wrap! After an unforgettable journey, all of my Emmerdale episodes have now aired,” Cooper wrote on Instagram<\/a> alongside a carousel of photos from set.<\/p>\n

“Playing the role of Mike, while challenging due to the character’s actions, was an honor.”<\/p>\n

Cooper acknowledged that the “difficult” story “has unfortunately happened to people in real life”. <\/p>\n

“I hope our portrayal helps bring much-needed awareness to this issue,” he added before thanking cast, crew and fans.<\/p>\n

Cooper also praised his co-star Brad Johnson, who plays Vinny, for making his days on Emmerdale “much better”.<\/p>\n

“Massive shoutout to @bradjakejohnson who was alongside me from my first to my last day on set and made the whole experience that much better,” Cooper wrote. <\/p>\n

Emmerdale star Shebz Miah, who’s been involved in the storyline as Vinny’s best friend Kammy, also praised Cooper’s performance, writing: “Well done bruddaaaaa, smashed it”.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
