{"id":71360,"date":"2025-10-10T09:11:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T09:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/71360\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T09:11:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T09:11:07","slug":"newstalk-presenter-kieran-cuddihy-set-to-join-rte-radio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/71360\/","title":{"rendered":"Newstalk presenter Kieran Cuddihy set to join RT\u00c9 Radio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Broadcaster Kieran Cuddihy is set to move from  Newstalk to  RT\u00c9 Radio, it has been confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Staff at  Newstalk were informed of his departure on Thursday night, with an internal email from senior management announcing that Thursday\u2019s edition of  The Hard Shoulder was his final show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Mr Cuddihy has been a key voice at  Newstalk since joining the station in 2011, taking over as presenter of  The Hard Shoulder, its flagship daily news and current affairs programme, in 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The move comes just hours after  RT\u00c9 confirmed that long-time presenter <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishexaminer.com\/news\/arid-41720997.html\">Ray D\u2019Arcy is leaving his weekday afternoon slot<\/a> on  RT\u00c9 Radio 1 after 11 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Mr Cuddihy\u2019s switch to  RT\u00c9 has fuelled speculation that he could be in line to replace Joe Duffy as host of  Liveline, following the veteran broadcaster\u2019s retirement earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\n             RT\u00c9 has not yet confirmed which programme Mr Cuddihy will front.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In addition to his radio work, Mr Cuddihy has presented  The Tonight Show on  Virgin Media since February and recently moderated the first broadcast presidential debate on the station.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It remains unclear whether he will continue to co-host the  Virgin Media current affairs show alongside his new  RT\u00c9 role.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Broadcaster Kieran Cuddihy is set to move from Newstalk to RT\u00c9 Radio, it has been confirmed.
