The best time to buy Apple tech is often right after the company has done a big hardware refresh, as deals on the older products inevitably follow. That\u2019s the case with the Apple Watch Series 10<\/a> this Prime Day<\/a>, with the wearable down to $279, which is a record low.<\/p>\n

This particular deal applies to the 42mm GPS version of the Apple Watch Series 10 in a variety of color options. And while it is no longer Apple\u2019s flagship smartwatch, with the Series 11<\/a> succeeding it last month, it was comfortably our top pick for the best smartwatch<\/a> until that arrived. Considering its regular list price starts at $399 (the same as the 42mm Series 11), you\u2019re saving some serious cash if you opt for the older device.<\/p>\n

In our 90-scoring review<\/a>, we warned any Series 8 or 9 Apple Watch owners that the Series 10 was a fairly unspectacular iterative update, but for first-time buyers or people looking to upgrade from an older model, it\u2019s very easy to recommend. Its larger display makes it easier to check notifications than on previous Apple Watches, while the thinner frame means it looks nicer too.<\/p>\n

The former flagship Apple Watch unsurprisingly excels at health and fitness tracking, and the blood oxygen app that Apple was forced to remove<\/a> when the watch launched is now available again<\/a> after a redesign.<\/p>\n
