Over the past few months, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been making the headlines for various reasons. From opting out of Spirit and Kalki 2898 AD over the working hours issue to being trolled for wearing a hijab in an Abu Dhabi tourism advertisement, her fans have been rallying in her support. And now the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has appointed her as India\u2019s first-ever Mental Health Ambassador.<\/p>\n
On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Deepika took to her official social media handle to make the announcement. She met with Union Health Minister JP Nadda to discuss her collaboration with the government in raising awareness and improving access to mental health care across India.<\/p>\n
For those who don\u2019t know, the 39-year-old actress has been quite vocal about mental health awareness through her organisation Live Love Laugh Foundation (TLLLF). Taking to her Instagram handle, she expressed gratitude over the appointment.<\/p>\n
