Four Waterford<\/a> businesses have made it to the final of the Good Food Ireland Awards which will take place next month.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ceremony will take place on November 10th at The K Club in Co. Kildare.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Good Food Ireland Awards are the\u00a0only cross-sector, food and drink awards that champion those who uphold Ireland\u2019s culinary excellence, celebrate local provenance and honour sustainable practices.<\/p>\n

The theme of this year’s Awards is ‘Rooted in Taste. Backed by Trust.’<\/p>\n

The following businesses have been nominated:\u00a0<\/p>\n

GROW HQ Cafe & Larder – Sustainability Award \u2013 Tourism Hospitality of the Year
\n Walshe’s Bakehouse – Bakery & Chocolate Producer of the Year
\n Barrons Bakery & Coffee House – Bakery & Chocolate Producer of the Year
\n Freezin’ Friesian – Dairy Producer of the Year<\/p>\n

The Good Food Ireland Awards are judged by an independent panel of Irish and international experts through onsite mystery inspections and detailed assessments.<\/p>\n

These experts shortlist nominees and select winners based on strict criteria, which include local sourcing, Irish provenance, and sustainability.<\/p>\n

“Good Food Ireland was born from a desire to celebrate Ireland\u2019s world-class food, drink and farming champions. Many years later, our awards are now recognised as the pinnacle of excellence in food, drink and tourism experience, recognising those businesses who play a vital role in the entire Irish food ecosystem,”\u00a0Margaret Jeffares, Founder of Good Food Ireland, said.<\/p>\n

“From food and drink producers and regenerative farmers to chefs and tourism destinations, we were delighted to have received an incredibly high calibre of entries from County Waterford,” she added.<\/p>\n

In addition to the main categories, the awards feature the Food Lovers’ Choice Award, which is open to all agri-food, drink and tourism hospitality businesses, and voted for by the public.<\/p>\n

Five Food Lovers\u2019 Choice award winners will be presented on the night, featuring winners from the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland\u2019s Ancient East, Ireland\u2019s Hidden Heartland, Dublin and Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n

FBD Insurance is a sponsor of the Awards for the second year.<\/p>\n

Other key sponsors include AIB, Wine Consultants Ireland, Waterford and Tourism Ireland, among others, whose support is important in celebrating excellence across Ireland\u2019s vibrant food and tourism sectors.<\/p>\n
