The demands of parenthood often require mothers to become adept at multitasking.<\/p>\n

However, Hollywood star Karen Gillan<\/a> has taken that skill to the next level after revealing she wrote a screenplay while caring for her newborn daughter.<\/p>\n

The Guardians of the Galaxy star, 37, and her American husband Nick Kocher, 38, welcomed the arrival of baby Clementine last December.<\/p>\n

Now, in an insight into how she balances work and family life, the Scots actress revealed she wrote a horror script in the weeks following her daughter\u2019s birth as she found the tot would often only sleep in her arms.<\/p>\n

Ms Gillan said: \u2018I\u2019ve written a pilot for television in that haze because I didn\u2019t figure out how to put the baby into the crib so it was all contact naps.<\/p>\n

\u2018So, I was like \u201cwhat can I do right now to pass the time? I know I\u2019ll create something\u201d. I was trying to type and then I was doing it on my phone and then I was like \u201cI\u2019ll just have it in my head and then get it out once the baby is not on me\u201d.\u2019<\/p>\n

Discussing the project, she said: \u2018It is probably going to be the biggest undertaking of my life and I can\u2019t really talk about it right now but it is in the horror space. It will be the hardest thing I\u2019ve ever done.\u2019<\/p>\n

The former Doctor Who star, who lives in Los Angeles, also spoke of how odd she finds it to think that her daughter will have an American accent. \u2018She\u2019s going to be like \u201cHey mom\u201d and I\u2019ll be like \u201cIt\u2019s mum\u201d,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n

Ms Gillan also touched on how her fame affects daily life during the chat with Virgin Radio host Ryan Tubridy.<\/p>\n

Asked if she can move around London without being recognised, she said: \u2018I can.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, she added: \u2018I can\u2019t get round my hometown \u2013 Inverness \u2013 because that\u2019s a smaller place and people are much more aware of me. But I get around New York City fine.\u2019<\/p>\n

Also, when Tubridy suggested she was \u2018glamorous,\u2019 Ms Gillan responded with surprise, saying: \u2018I just don\u2019t view myself that way.\u2019<\/p>\n
