Katy Perry<\/a> is giving fellow pop star Taylor Swift<\/a> her flowers amid the release of her latest album, Life of a Showgirl.<\/p>\n

On Friday, October 10 \u2014 exactly one week after Swift, 35, released her 12 studio album to much fanfare \u2014 the \u201cI Kissed a Girl\u201d singer shared one of the singer\u2019s new tracks, \u201cEldest Daughter,\u201d to her Instagram Stories.<\/p>\n

While the two have had their fair share of relationship ups and downs \u2014 which seemingly fueled a years-long rift while reportedly inspiring Swift\u2019s \u201cBad Blood\u201d and Perry\u2019s \u201cSwish Swish\u201d \u2014 the singers have been supportive of one another in their respective careers. After burying the hatched, Swift featured Perry, 40, in the music video for her song \u201cYou Need to Calm Down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perry went on to attend Swift\u2019s history-making Eras Tour in March 2024, later sharing a series of photos and videos from the concert \u2014 including a backstage selfie with Swift \u2014 via Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cGot to see an old friend shine tonight,\u201d Perry captioned the post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cWhat I\u2019m grateful for is we did get to make up publicly and got to be an example of redemptions for young girls. I always wanted the best for her and now we can talk about the best we want for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift has been on a whirlwind promotion tour since the release of her album and in the wake of her recent engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce<\/a>. While discussing her new work, Swift has been opening up about her personal relationship to Kelce, 36, and how he inspired some of Life of a Showgirl\u2019s tracks.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had learned that it\u2019s actually a man-made opal,\u201d Swift said on Friday, October 3, of her song \u201cOpalite\u201d \u2014 her fianc\u00e9\u2019s favorite on the new album that, to the surprise of no one, is inspired by the football player.<\/p>\n

\u201cOpal can be man-made just like diamonds, and so, Travis\u2019 birthstone is an opal. I\u2019ve always fixated on that, [and] I\u2019ve always loved that stone. I thought it was kind of a cool metaphor that, like, it\u2019s a man-made opal and happiness can also be man-made, too. That\u2019s what the song is about, the juxtaposition of those two.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift has also been opening up about her recent engagement to Kelce, sharing everything from how the tight end pulled it off to their future wedding plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe really crushed it, in surprising me,\u201d Swift said of Kelce\u2019s proposal while appearing on The Graham Norton Show. \u201cWhile we were talking on his podcast, he had a complete garden built out the back of his house to propose in. He went all out \u2014 10 out of 10.\u201d
Swift was also clear that while she\u2019s thrilled to be engaged, she is maintaining her focus on her career and album \u2014 for now.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to do the album stuff first, and the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning,\u201d Swift explained to Norton. The singer later revealed during her sit-down interview with BBC Radio 1 that she is planning a \u201cdestination wedding,\u201d but didn\u2019t dish on any potential location.<\/p>\n
