\n\tSabrina Carpenter<\/a> is back at No. 1 on the Billboard 200<\/a> with her latest, \u201cMan\u2019s Best Friend<\/a>.\u201d The 12-song set debuts as her second consecutive chart-topper in a little over a year following 2024\u2019s\u00a0\u201cShort n\u2019 Sweet<\/a>,\u201d\u00a0which spent four weeks at No. 1 (currently at No. 7) and won a Grammy for best pop vocal album.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMan\u2019s Best Friend\u201d opens with 366,000 album units, per Luminate, as the highest-charting effort of her career. By comparison, \u201cShort n\u2019 Sweet\u201d opened with 362,000 equivalent album units and became a top-seller in the United States again in February following the release of its deluxe edition. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMan\u2019s Best Friend\u201d earned the biggest opening week for any female album in 2025, surpassing the 219,000-unit debut of\u00a0Lady Gaga\u2019s\u00a0\u201cMayhem<\/a>.\u201d Carpenter also broke the record for the most-streamed debut for an album by a woman this year, totaling 184 million streams. On Spotify, she broke the record <\/a>for most-streamed album in a single day by a female artist this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tHer seventh studio effort, \u201cMan\u2019s Best Friend,\u201d was preceded by singles \u201cManchild\u201d and \u201cTears,\u201d with the former becoming her first single to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100. On Sep. 4, she treated fans with surprise\u00a0bonus track,\u00a0\u201cSuch a Funny Way,\u201d which is available to download from her website.<\/p>\n

\n\tCarpenter is expected to perform songs from \u201cMan\u2019s Best Friend\u201d during her appearance at the MTV VMAs<\/a> on Sunday night.
