Kodaline have been together for over a decade and will soon record their fifth and final album.<\/p>\n
Kodaline have announced Irish dates for next year following the announcement the band are splitting up.<\/p>\n
The band will play the first of two farewell gigs at Virgin Media Park in Cork on Friday, June 19.<\/p>\n
That date will be followed by a show at Dublin\u2019s Malahide Castle on Saturday, June 20. Tickets for both shows will go on sale this Friday.<\/p>\n
News of Kodaline\u2019s split came last Thursday when the band shared a message with fans, announcing they would be saying \u201cgoodbye to Kodaline\u201d after more than a decade together.<\/p>\n
The band, made up of lead singer Steve Garrigan, drummer Vincent May, guitarist Mark Prendergast, and bassist Jason Boland, released their debut album In a Perfect World in 2012.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter over a decade together we\u2019ve made the difficult decision to say goodbye to Kodaline. We know this might come as a surprise, and it\u2019s definitely bittersweet for us too,\u201d the band said in a statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we\u2019ve shared with you has changed our lives forever. From busking on the streets of Dublin to selling out shows and arenas across the world, it really has been the stuff that dreams are made of.\u201d<\/p>\n
The group said they plan to \u201cend on a high\u201d and have also announced plans to head back to the studio to record their fifth and final studio album.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are, and always will be, forever grateful for your love and support. It\u2019s been a journey that we will never forget and we hope the music stays with you long after we\u2019re gone.<\/p>\n
