The specially sourced medals \u2013 engraved with individual names and title-winning seasons \u2013 were created to mark their achievements in league-winning sides. <\/p>\n

The players missed out on medals due to Football League qualifying criteria in place at the time of the successes.<\/p>\n

The following former players were recognised during a recent ceremony at Anfield:<\/p>\n

David Fairclough<\/a> \u2013 1982-83 (eight appearances)<\/p>\n

David Hodgson<\/a> \u2013 1983-84 (five appearances)<\/p>\n

Alan Kennedy<\/a> \u2013 1985-86 (eight appearances)<\/p>\n

Chris Lawler<\/a> (whose son collected on his behalf) \u2013 1963-64 (six appearances)<\/p>\n

Jan Molby<\/a> \u2013 1987-88 (seven appearances)<\/p>\n

Terry McDermott<\/a> \u2013 1975-76 (nine appearances)<\/p>\n

Ronny Rosenthal<\/a> \u2013 1989-90 (eight appearances)<\/p>\n

Paul Walsh<\/a> \u2013 1987-88 (eight appearances)<\/p>\n

John Wark<\/a> \u2013 1983-84 and 1985-86 (awarded two medals for nine appearances in each season)<\/p>\n

Four other players who were unable to attend have received their medals separately:<\/p>\n

Steve Heighway<\/a> \u2013 1979-80 (nine appearances)<\/p>\n

Colin Irwin<\/a> \u2013 1979-80 (eight appearances)<\/p>\n

Sammy Lee<\/a> \u2013 1979-80 (seven appearances)<\/p>\n

Alec Lindsay<\/a> \u2013 1975-76 (six appearances)<\/p>\n

A posthumous medal has also been presented to the family of Joey Jones<\/a> for his 13 appearances in the 1975-76 season.<\/p>\n

Sir Kenny Dalglish presented the medals alongside Liverpool FC\u2019s chief legal and external affairs officer, Jonathan Bamber, who said: \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to have been able to celebrate this occasion at Anfield.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an emotional night for many and it\u2019s a real honour to have been able to source and present league championship winner\u2019s medals to our Forever Reds.<\/p>\n
