Foo Fighters<\/a> appear to be teasing their return, calling on fans to \u201cassemble\u201d and sharing some photos from the studio. Check out the posts below.<\/p>\n

The band\u2019s 11th and latest album, \u2018But Here We Are\u2019<\/a>, was released in 2023. It marked their first material since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins<\/a> the previous year, and saw them enlist Josh Freese as a touring sticksman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This July, Dave Grohl<\/a> and co. marked their 30th anniversary by sharing a new single called \u2018Today\u2019s Song\u2019<\/a>. Earlier this year, Freese announced that he had departed the Foos<\/a> after they \u201cdecided to go in a different direction with their drummer\u201d.<\/p>\n

The group have since reportedly enlisted Ilan Rubin<\/a> \u2013 essentially swapping with Nine Inch Nails\u00a0for their\u00a0ex-touring drummer Freese<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last Thursday (September 4), Foo Fighters seemingly began the rollout of their next era by posting a shot of the six-piece band\u2019s legs and feet standing together in a circle.<\/p>\n

Another upload last Saturday (September 6) saw Grohl, Nate Mendel and Pat Smear recording in Studio 606 at some point in 2025. Yesterday (7), the band posted a photo of Chris Shiflett putting down a guitar part. \u201cShifty Sunday!!!\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n

The latter picture also directed followers to \u201csign up<\/a> for more important shredding updates\u201d via the Foos\u2019 newsletter. The group are yet to share more posts or further information, at the time of writing.<\/p>\n

Foo Fighters haven\u2019t performed live since this time last year, but are scheduled to play some gigs in Indonesia, Japan<\/a>, Singapore<\/a> and Mexico next month and into November \u2013 suggesting new material could emerge soon.<\/p>\n

They reportedly cancelled some European dates for 2025<\/a> last December, following the news that Grohl had \u201crecently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of [his] marriage\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Freese recently addressed his sacking from Foo Fighters<\/a>, explaining: \u201cLooking back, it was probably more an issue with their management.\u201d However, the drummer said the Foos\u2019 material \u201cwasn\u2019t music that I really resonated with\u201d.<\/p>\n

Upon sharing \u2018Today\u2019s Song\u2019, Grohl thanked every former member of the band for their contributions throughout the years. He praised \u201cthe thunderous wizardry of Josh Freese\u201d, and said Hawkins was \u201cstill in everything we do, everywhere we go, forever\u201d.<\/p>\n
