THOUSANDS of euros worth of machinery and horse medication was stolen from leading Limerick horse trainer Enda Bolger\u2019s yard, Limerick Live<\/a> can reveal.<\/p>\n

Mr Bolger, of Howardstown, Bruree, said the perpetrators knew what they were doing in the targeted burglary.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were definitely horse fellows because they left stuff that was no use to them,\u201d said the renowned trainer and former jockey.<\/p>\n

The burglary took place overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, October 14 and 15.<\/p>\n

Items were taken from a shed, barn and feedhouse in Mr Bolger\u2019s yard, which has been home to the likes of Spot Thedifference, Garde Champetre, Gilgamboa, On The Fringe and many more household names.<\/p>\n

Hedgecutters, chainsaw, clipping machine, electrolytes and antepsin were stolen.<\/p>\n

Mr Bolger said their value is around \u20ac7,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not an easy place to come into. They left a van that had been stolen in my driveway. They must have used another vehicle to get away with the stuff. The guards took away the stolen van,\u201d said Mr Bolger, \u00a0the most successful Point-to-Point rider of all time.<\/p>\n

The burglary has caused a lot of anger locally.<\/p>\n

A post on the Dromin Athlacca Facebook page reads: \u201cOver the years Enda Bolger has supported events in this parish. If anyone knows or heard of any of the items for sale please let the gardai in Bruff know.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post includes a full list<\/a> of everything stolen.<\/p>\n

Mr Bolger,\u00a0undoubtedly the master when it comes to cross-country and banks races, said he will have to increase his stringent security measures even further.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a pity because I love to see local people coming through our place. We have a river here and people walk by it but that\u2019s all going to have to stop now, sadly. Everything is going to be locked in future.<\/p>\n

“I always allowed the local people in but that has to come to an end due to the actions of these perpetrators,\u201d said Mr Bolger, who asks anybody who has any information, or may be offered the items above for sale, to contact gardai.<\/p>\n

A garda spokesperson said: “Garda\u00ed received a report of an incident of burglary that occurred at a premises in Bruree, Co. Limerick overnight between Tuesday, October 14 and Wednesday, October 15, 2025.<\/p>\n

“A number of items have been reported as stolen. A technical examination of the scene was conducted.<\/p>\n

“Investigations are ongoing.”<\/p>\n
