Nine years on from his exit as Andy Sugden, Kelvin Fletcher has reacted to ongoing fan speculation that he could finally return to Emmerdale in the iconic role. The actor racked up over 2,000 episodes across an impressive twenty-year stay on the soap, but would he ever want to go back for more?<\/p>\n

The Strictly Come Dancing winner was on ITV’s This Morning to promote the new series of Fletchers’ Family Farm, which he fronts with wife Liz<\/a>, when host Alison Hammond pressed him on the latest chatter.<\/p>\n

“There are rumours that your character might be coming back, I don’t know if it’s true…,” she said.<\/p>\n

“There always seems to be those rumours,” Kelvin quipped.<\/p>\n

“I think Emmerdale’s in a fantastic place at the minute. And like many, we’re viewers, we’re fans of the show, and it’s always different now to watch the show that I was in for 20 years.”<\/p>\n

It seems, however, that anyone hoping to see Andy again may be left disappointed. <\/p>\n

“I had some amazing memories there,” Kelvin said. “But I think I’d be too busy. I don’t think I can stand that two-hour commute, first and foremost.”<\/p>\n

With or without Andy, it seems the Sugden family has more than enough drama for the time being.<\/p>\n

Robert, Andy’s adoptive brother, is keeping a big secret from Aaron Dingle: that he secretly married a man named Kev in prison.<\/p>\n

Aaron has remained in the dark for now, but that’s set to change next week when Kev gives Robert a big kiss… in full view of Aaron<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Robert’s mortified when Aaron spots him and Kev together,” our Emmerdale source teased. “But it was surely only a matter of time with both guys living in the same village!<\/p>\n

“Aaron just wants a fresh start with Robert after so much drama with John, but will this betrayal send Robron straight back to square one?”<\/p>\n

Robert will take centre-stage in one of three special episodes<\/a> set to air this autumn, with April Windsor and Bear Wolf getting the same treatment.<\/p>\n

It was revealed this week that his installment will give viewers an insight into his incarceration, which was a result of him killing rapist Lee Posner.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX<\/a> and YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n
