According to reports, Nottingham Forest are \u2018considering\u2019 a surprise \u2018re-appointment\u2019 of a former manager to replace sacked boss Ange Postecoglou.<\/p>\n
Former Celtic and Spurs head coach Postecoglou was appointed to replace Nuno Espirito Santo at Nottm Forest<\/a> earlier this season and he has already been sacked.<\/p>\n This was a puzzling appointment as Postecoglou <\/a>adopts a completely different style of play and he is without a win in his eight games in charge across all competitions.<\/p>\n Postecoglou quickly became the favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked<\/a> and Forest confirmed his dismissal after Saturday\u2019s 3-0 loss to Chelsea.<\/p>\n The club said on X: \u2018Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. The club will make no further comment at this time.\u2019<\/p>\n Ahead of Saturday\u2019s match against Chelsea, BBC reporter Sami Mokbel claimed Forest have three \u2018options\u2019 in mind to replace Postecoglou, though Fulham boss Marco Silva is their \u2018preferred\u2019 target.<\/p>\n Sean Dyche is also on their radar, while Mokbel has also revealed that the \u2018prospect of re-appointing Steve Cooper has been considered\u2019.<\/p>\n READ:\u00a0Who will be next Nottingham Forest manager after Ange Postecoglou sack?<\/a><\/p>\n Mokbel explained:<\/p>\n \u2018It is understood the process of identifying replacements in the event of Ange Postecoglou\u2019s sacking are under way, and developed during the international break.<\/p>\n \u2018On Forest\u2019s radar is Fulham head coach Marco Silva, with sources indicating that the Portuguese is the preferred option of a number of internal figures at the City Ground.\u2019<\/p>\n Postecoglou made interesting team selections for the Chelsea game as he started Taiwo Awonyi, Douglas Luiz and Oleksandr Zinchenko.<\/p>\n He commented on the potential benefits of this international break and was hoping that \u201csome of the noise dies down a little bit\u201d, which obviously did not end up happening.<\/p>\n \u201cNot so much a rest, but a chance to reflect on the first period.
