LOS ANGELES, Oct 19 \u2014 Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers has died at the age of 48, the band announced on social media. Rivers, who provided both bass and backing vocals for the influential nu metal group, was remembered by bandmates Fred Durst, John Otto, Wes Borland, and DJ Lethal in a heartfelt Instagram tribute as \u201cour brother, our bandmate, our heartbeat.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement described Rivers as \u201cpure magic,\u201d praising his effortless talent, unforgettable presence, and enormous heart. \u201cFrom the first note we ever played together, Sam brought a light and a rhythm that could never be replaced,\u201d the band wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cHis spirit will live forever in every groove, every stage, every memory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1994, Limp Bizkit rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s with hits like Rollin\u2019 (Air Raid Vehicle), Take A Look Around, and My Way.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Their track Break Stuff has been streamed nearly a billion times on Spotify.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The band has released six studio albums, most of which have achieved platinum status.<\/p>\n
Rivers briefly left Limp Bizkit in 2015 due to liver disease, later receiving a transplant and rejoining the band in 2018.\u00a0<\/p>\n
