{"id":93024,"date":"2025-10-20T17:35:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T17:35:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/93024\/"},"modified":"2025-10-20T17:35:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T17:35:12","slug":"omhu-projects-creates-colourful-oslo-studio-for-podcast-platform-podimo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/93024\/","title":{"rendered":"Omhu Projects creates colourful Oslo studio for podcast platform Podimo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oslo studio Omhu Projects used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/colour\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">colour<\/a> to channel different moods in the Norwegian office and recording studio of Scandinavian podcast platform Podimo.<\/p>\n<p>The interiors studio led by design duo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jenkinsuhnger.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jenkins&amp;Uhnger<\/a> developed two material and colour palettes for <a href=\"https:\/\/podimo.com\/en\/about\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Podimo<\/a>&#8216;s Norway headquarters, to cater to the different people using the space.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2258591 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/podimo-omhu-projects_dezeen_2364_col_0-852x1136.jpg\" alt=\"Lobby in Podimo Norway office by Omhu Projects\" width=\"1773\" height=\"2364\"  \/>The lobby features scuptural furniture, a two-tone tiled table and a spiralling magazine holder<\/p>\n<p>Vibrant colours bring energy to the spaces used by content creators, while a softer palette promotes focus and collaboration in staff&#8217;s day-to-day workspaces.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What is good for one user group isn\u2019t necessarily good for the other; we wanted to respect that with our design for the space,&#8221; explained <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omhuprojects.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Omhu<\/a> co-founder and creative director Thomas Jenkins.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2258592 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/podimo-omhu-projects_dezeen_2364_col_1-852x1136.jpg\" alt=\"Lobby in Podimo Norway office by Omhu Projects\" width=\"1773\" height=\"2364\"  \/>The table was custom-made with tiles from Dutch brand Palet<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Colour affects our experience of our environment, and the quantity of colour and the amount of time we are surrounded by it can determine whether it is invigorating or draining,&#8221; he told Dezeen.<\/p>\n<p>The starting point was to translate Podimo&#8217;s digital identity into a physical environment.<\/p>\n<p>The ambition was to create a space that reflects the same energy and sense of storytelling that underpins Podimo&#8217;s podcast content.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2258602 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/podimo-omhu-projects_dezeen_2364_col_11-852x1136.jpg\" alt=\"Blue recording studio at Podimo Norway office by Omhu Projects\" width=\"1773\" height=\"2364\"  \/>Bold colour was applied to podcasting recording studios<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Podimo Norway is a really down-to-earth, authentic and genuine company led by the fearless and talented Fride von Porat, who has an amazing energy and playfulness,&#8221; said spatial designer Poppy Lawman.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We wanted to transfer the brand essence of not just the digital brand but the people as well, and apply that in a way that felt genuine rather than corporate,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2258594 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/podimo-omhu-projects_dezeen_2364_col_3-852x1136.jpg\" alt=\"Wardrobe in Podimo Norway office by Omhu Projects\" width=\"1773\" height=\"2364\"  \/>Blue was also chosen for the curtain-lined wardrobe area<\/p>\n<p>Podimo&#8217;s podcast hosts include comedians Berrum &amp; Beyer, relationship guru Iselin Guttormsen and healthcare advisors Katarina Flatland and Harald Dobloug, who typically come in for two hours a week to record their shows.<\/p>\n<p>To create spaces that inspire them, Omhu applied bold shades of yellow, blue, red and orange to wall surfaces, textiles and sculptural furniture.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2258596 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/podimo-omhu-projects_dezeen_2364_col_5-852x1136.jpg\" alt=\"Desks in Podimo Norway office by Omhu Projects\" width=\"1773\" height=\"2364\"  \/>Wooden desks feature vintage Luxo lamps and plants<\/p>\n<p>The lobby epitomises this, with additions including a spiralling magazine holder by Swedish designer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/gustaf-westman\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gustav Westman<\/a> and a custom-made coffee table covered in two-tone <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2024\/10\/21\/tiles-palet-dezeen-showroom\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Palet tiles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These are accompanied by two iconic Norwegian furniture designs,\u00a0including a yellow version of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/02\/14\/ekstrem-chair-varier-terje-ekstrom-dezeen-showroom\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Terje Ekstr\u00f8m&#8217;s tubular Ekstrem chair<\/a> and Peter Opsvik&#8217;s Variable rocking stool in blue.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2024\/10\/22\/drama-republic-office-emil-eve-architects\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"191\" height=\"191\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/drama-republic-workspace-emil-eve_dezeen_2364_sq_2-191x191.jpg\" class=\"excludeLightbox wp-post-image\" alt=\"Drama Republic Office by Emil Eve Architects\" decoding=\"async\" data-pin-nopin=\"true\"  \/><\/p>\n<p> Emil Eve Architects uses mid-century colours in homey office for Drama Republic\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Matching blue shades feature in the podcast recording rooms, as well as in a curtain-lined wardrobe area.<\/p>\n<p>For the employee areas, where Podimo staff produce the podcasts, colour is applied more sparingly.
